E'myri Lee Crutchfield born is a young actress from New Orleans, LA. Emyri's mother enrolled her in acting classes at the age of 8 years old after noticing she had a knack for impersonating people she encountered in the mall. In addition to acting classes she pursued gymnastics from eight to twelve years old. E'myri was home-schooled for four years allowing her parents to travel with her between Los Angeles, CA and her hometown to audition and pursue her acting career. In 2014, E'myri was one of a small group selected from amongst thousands to attend the Nickelodeon Groundling Sketch Comedy training in Los Angeles. E'myri got her acting start in local New Orleanian small theater plays and small independent films such as Papers Cranes and Pendulum and We Three Kings. E'myri's first speaking role came when she played a role in the 2015 release Vacation. E'myri made her prime-time television debut in 2016 as teenage Kizzy in the remake of the series Roots which aired simultaneously on Lifetime, A&E and the History Channel. Also in 2016 she played Zoey in Amazon Prime's, The Kick's a series about a middle school girls' soccer team. E'myri is very much your typical teenage girl, a Junior at the private Ursuline Academy in New Orleans, LA. where she is a proud member of the Merry Macs. She enjoys shopping for her favorite makeup and hair products, watching make-up and hair tutorials on the internet, reading and listening to hip hop music. E'myri has been inducted as an honorary member of the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale and will serve as the Grand Marshall for their 2017 Mardi Gras Parade under the theme "MKFF Hosts Game Day." For her work in Roots E'myri is nominated for a 2017 NAACP image award for Outstanding Performance by a Youth (Series, Special, Television Movie or Limited-series). She was recognized by the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana, The Office of the Mayor of the City of New Orleans, Mitchell J. Landrieu and the City of New Orleans City Council at the request of Councilmember LaToya Cantrell.
