James Manos, Jr. won the Emmy Award along with David Chase for writing his "College" episode of HBO's groundbreaking series, The Sopranos. After two seasons as Consulting Producer on the FX Golden Globe winning series, The Shield, he went on to create and produce Showtime's 8 year hit, Dexter, which also earned multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and wins. He recently completed a one-hour drama, The Vault, for UFA and Fremantle and is working on an 8-hour mini-series about the break up of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War for Trilogy Entertainment. He also Executive Produced the 8-episode order of South Of Hell for Sonar Entertainment and WeTv. Since then, he sold a half hour series Staying Brown to Amazon - a series about two Puerto Rican ladies from the 'block' on the run in Europe. He also completed The Slow and Complete Decompensation of Jim Manos, which he wrote and sold to TNT as a one-hour comedy. He wrote the independent feature film, I Am Lupe, about the iconic Afro-Cuban entertainer La Lupe, who many consider the Latina Edit Piaf. The film will star Lauren Velez with Arturo Sandoval to score the movie, and is in the latter stages of financing. With roots in the theater, his latest play The Misconception is being developed with the Cherry Lane Theatre in NYC for an Off-Broadway run. The dark comedy centers on an older couple desperately trying to get pregnant. Manos recently partnered with producer Arnold Rifkin and Graphic India, the Gotham Chopra and Sharad Devarajan imprint, and wrote Marked, a new cop franchise, into a graphic novel. The four edition series centers on how crime, politics, money and corrupt cops walk hand in hand to keep the criminal businesses of major cities moving forward. Marked will be released in the fourth quarter of 2016. He's written the one-hour cable drama Chess for writer/producers Matt Williams and David McFadzean, a two-hour movie, The Ladies for producer, Joe Pichirallo at HBO, and Crossroads for producer Graham King. He also wrote, the one-hour drama, Brand about the world of counterfeiting high end products. Manos produced the award-winning movie The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom, starring Holly Hunter and Beau Bridges, for HBO. The movie was nominated for six Emmys and won three. He also produced the critically acclaimed Telefilms, Apollo 11 and The Ditchdigger's Daughters. He is represented by Michael Van Dyck at Inspired Entertainment, and Alan Grodin at Weintraub, Tobin, Chediak, Coleman and Grodin.
